Julie Sasko Bissell grew up in the Mon Valley her entire life. She was born into Black and Gold and a lover of sports. Growing up, Julie played volleyball, took Karate and played the Clarinet, Piano and Oboe. She attended Ringgold High School located in Monongahela Pennsylvania.
Upon graduation Julie attended Washington & Jefferson College in Washington PA better known as W&J. There she played volleyball, was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, studied Economics and met her future husband. She loved the analytical part of Economics although her favorite class was Probability & Statistics, which comes into play in the real estate market today. Every year Julie and her husband take the family back for W&J homecoming. If her children decide to attend W&J (chances are likely), they would be the fourth generation to attend.
Before Julie graduated from Washington & Jefferson, she had a job offer with Strategic Energy, which was bought by Direct Energy in Pittsburgh as an Energy Trader. She went on to work there for a few years before receiving her MBA with a concentration in International Business from Webster University in Geneva Switzerland. It wasn’t always all studying in Europe. Julie and her husband took time to see many different countries, meet new people and most importantly try all kinds of different foods!
When returning to the States, Julie accepted a position in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with the emerging energy company of Liberty Power. The location was beautiful, the people were great and her coworkers were amazing. However, life had a different plan. Julie had twins (boy & girl), packed it up and moved back home to Pittsburgh to be close to those that are most important to her. You can take the girl out of Pittsburgh but you can’t take Pittsburgh out of the girl.
Now she resides in Peters Township and is building a successful career in real estate. She loves helping people find a home in her hometown. Julie loves seeing people relocate to the area and showing them all the hidden treasures Pittsburgh has to offer.
The twins are older and business is growing rapidly. Each year, Julie participates in the fundraising efforts for Coldwell Banker & Make-A-Wish at their charity golf event and Shopping Extravaganza at Valleybrook Country Club. She also helps a committee of talented women at Noah’s Ark Preschool in McMurray for their yearly fundraiser which last year featured the local celebrity, Scott Blasey, from the Clarks.
So in the end, who is Julie? Well, she is a little bit of everyone. She is a mother, traveler, relocation expert, sister, real estate agent, daughter, food lover, friend, sports fan and wife. She believes that we are only as successful as the people that we can help. Julie knows that life may take you down one path but you have to adapt and be flexible to changes and road bumps. This philosophy is the same with every real estate transaction. The basic steps are there but the path is a little different each time.
